Mission Statement

The purpose of the Driftless Area Land Conservancy is to protect the rural landscape and quality of life in southwest Wisconsin – this includes protection of farms, forests, grasslands, wetlands, soils, and the natural beauty of the area. Specifically, the organization will focus on Richland, Sauk, Iowa, and Lafayette counties. These objectives will be accomplished by preserving significant land and scenic areas while fostering an appreciation and understanding of the natural and cultural environment.

We continue to succeed in our mission by accepting donations of land and conservation easements, and by purchasing development rights in the form of conservation easements.
